IUP Miller Stadium Sound System
(Click on pictures to see full sized images)
In 2009 we were tasked with the installation and implementation of a high-tech sound system
for Indiana University of Pennsylvania's George P. Miller Stadium. We partnered with Edward Simon & Co.,
a renowned and well respected sound engineering and installation firm based in Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Simon was able to provide us with the
equipment we needed, assisted in the engineering of the project, and with his on-site facilities was able to manufacture custom speaker mounts
(as well as various other pieces) that were designed specifically for this stadium.
The new sound system, designed by Ken Ciroli, the A/V, Media Specialist at IUP, features state of the art digital amplifier controls, remote
power control, NFL grade referee mics, a hearing assistance system, and much more. After many, many, MANY hours of work we were able to deliver
a system that exceeded the expectations of the university staff, even those who were intimately involved of with the planning of the project
from its inception.
If you're interested in reading more about the system and some of the equipment used, here's a link to a press release made by Electro-Voice
(more commonly known as EV), the company who
manufactured a number of the products that we used in this project:
